Luz Cristal Glangchai, PhD, is a scientist, entrepreneur, and mentor with a passion for developing the next generation of creative leaders and entrepreneurs, and for igniting the entrepreneurial spirit in girls. She is the Director of the Texas Entrepreneurship Exchange (TEX) and the Director of the Blackstone Launchpad at the University of Texas at Austin. She is also the Founder/CEO of VentureLab, a non-profit that develops experiential learning programs in youth tech entrepreneurship. Prior to that, Dr. Glangchai served as the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Assistant Professor at Trinity University. She also ran the Idea to Product Program at the University of Texas at Austin and founded a nanotechnology drug delivery company.
Over the years, Dr. Glangchai has worked in intellectual property, technology commercialization, and product development. She received her B.A. in Plan II, B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, she holds two doctoral certificates in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and Cellular and Molecular Imaging for Diagnostics and Therapeutics. Dr. Glangchai has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, the TODAY Show, NPR’s The TakeAway, Mashable, Medium, TEDx San Antonio, and SXSW Interactive.
