Dr. Venkat Korada is a technologist, educator, and an entrepreneur with expertise in Chemical Technology, Biotechnology and Information Technology. For nearly a decade, Dr. Korada has led Symmetric Systems LLC, a US-based Biotechnology company, as its CEO. He held management positions in multiple Fortune 500 companies in the United States. He was adviser to several startup companies in Connecticut.
Dr. Korada holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Delhi University and a master’s in Computer Science from the University of New Haven, Connecticut. He was associated in technology development projects with the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, and Indian Institute of Science Bangalore among others. He was a recipient of grants and fellowships from UNESCO, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India.
For over a decade, Dr. Korada was a Professor of Chemistry at Delhi University. He was a Visiting Professor in the laboratory of Nobel laureate Prof. Thomas A Steitz at Yale University School of Medicine and worked in the field of Structural Biology. He was a member of the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute. Later he joined the New England Biomedical Research Center as Director of Research and developed proprietary technologies for protein crystallography and commercialized them.
He volunteers his time for many nonprofit organizations. He is a member of SPIC MACAY, the Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth; ASHA for Education; ASNNE, the Astronomical Society of Northern New England; and AOPA, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He is an enthusiastic ballroom dancer and veena player.
Dr. Korada worked in the US for nearly two decades. He moved to Tirupati and joined XLr8 Andhra Pradesh in 2016. He brings vast entrepreneurial experience to share with both portfolio companies and students. He is passionate about inculcating the spirit of innovation amongst youth and developing their entrepreneurial skills.
