Heather Champion

Chief Clinical Officer, Spindletop Center

Heather Champion serves as Chief Clinical Officer for Spindletop Center.  The Southeast Texas native has dedicated the last 12 years to mental health work and improving the lives of the most vulnerable individuals in our community.  She holds a Masters of Education degree in Counseling and Development from Lamar University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  She is a member of the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Jefferson County, has served on the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Beaumont steering committee from 2017-2020; served as Chair in 2020, and was honored as 40 Under 40 Professionals of SETX in 2014. Her years of experience in provision of behavioral health crisis intervention services to individuals in her predominantly rural community has informed her ongoing search for better and more insightful tools and resources to support clinicians and communities. Heather has also led successful project management teams which facilitated CARF accreditation and CCBHC certification for Spindletop Center.
