Exporting Tech from Texas

From the days when the oil and cattle industries reigned in Texas to the current dominance of the information technology and manufacturing sectors, the state export environment has been historically rich. The second largest exporter in the U.S., Texas accounts for more than 13% of all U.S. exports and lists third among all states in per capita exports. With NAFTA partners Mexico and Canada accounting for more than half of the state's exports, new and growing Texas companies need not travel far to begin their global expansion.
