The purpose of this paper is to explore the dimensions of diabetes in Belize and its impact on sustainable wellbeing. Diabetes is the leading cause of death in Belize, with many contributing factors. The author identifies some of those factors as well as governmental and non-governmental efforts to reduce them. The author’s research was partially funded by the Bridging Disciplines program of the School of Undergraduate Studies at The University of Texas at Austin, and conducted under the guidance of Dr. David Gibson of the IC² Institute.
