Claudia F. Lucchinetti, M.D.

Dean, Dell Medical School | Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs, UT

In her role as Dean of Dell Medical School and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at UT, Dr. Lucchinetti oversees the academic medicine footprint of the university, including education, practice and research. She also continues her work as a leading researcher and practitioner in the field of neurology.

Before coming to UT, Lucchinetti spent nearly three decades at Mayo Clinic. Her research focuses on pathogenic mechanisms of CNS demyelinating disorders. As Mayo Clinic’s Dean of Clinical Translational Science, she established the infrastructure to accelerate clinical adoption of digital health innovations. As Neurology Chair, she led Mayo Clinic’s Neurology Artificial Intelligence Program. On the Board of Trustees, she served on the Digital Solutions committee providing oversight for Mayo Clinic’s digital solutions, technology infrastructure and information security strategies.
