EU public funding opportunities for US researchers

The IC² Institute will host a lunch & learn seminar on Tuesday, November 10th, from 11:30 am to 1:00pm, focusing on EU public funding opportunities for US researchers. Dr. Filipa Duarte will be the keynote speaker.

Filipa DuarteDr. Duarte is a Fulbright scholar from Portugal, in residence at IC² Institute through November 2015. Her presentation will focus on public research funding opportunities for US participation, available through Horizon 2020. Horizon 2020 is the EU Research and Innovation Program, launched in 2014 with €77 billion to invest in research, and innovation projects to support Europe’s economic competitiveness and extend the frontiers of human knowledge. The program continues through 2020.

Dr. Duarte’s presentation is open to the UT community. Drinks and sandwiches will be provided.

The event is free but registration is required.

Filipa Duarte is the coordinator of the Research and Innovation Accelerator (RIA) from the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL) in Portugal, which is a facilitator of research and innovation activities of FCT/UNL. She was awarded her PhD in Computer Architecture from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, in October 2008. Between March 2013 and October 2014, she was nominated National Expert of the European Framework Programme Horizon 2020 (H2020) for the Committee of Information Technologies (ICT) as well as National Point of Contact for ICT, Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) and Electronics, Components and Systems for European Leadership (ECSEL).
